SEN Teaching Assistant – Level 2 – Warrington

About the role

This full‑time, long‑term position is based in a specialist special school in Warrington. You will work on a 1:1 basis, providing consistent, tailored support to pupils with additional needs throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one assistance to pupils with complex SEN requirements.
• Support students in engaging with lessons, classroom activities and daily routines.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SEN coordinators and support staff to implement individual learning plans.
• Create a structured, calm and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with SEN or other additional‑needs learners.
• Background as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker.
• Patient, calm and consistent approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
• Confidence in delivering 1:1 support throughout the school day.

Required skills

• Understanding of SEN terminology and strategies.
• Ability to follow and implement individualized education plans.
• Effective communication with pupils, staff and families.
