About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted‑rated Outstanding academy in Newham. This full‑time, long‑term position supports pupils with additional needs within a mainstream classroom environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with ASD, SLD and PMLD.
- Assist the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery.
- Support students with personal care needs where required.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement and learning.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Experience working with individuals aged 2‑19 years.
- Valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK and two professional references.
