SEN Teaching Assistant – North Bristol Primary School

About the role
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in North Bristol. You will provide tailored support for pupils with autism, helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEND.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive social interaction.
- Use visual timetables, communication aids and structured routines.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support.
- Help foster a calm, engaging and nurturing classroom environment.
Required profile
- Experience working with children in school, nursery or care settings.
- Calm, patient and positive approach.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Team‑player who builds strong relationships with pupils.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) and right to work in the UK.
- Recent, relevant references.

- Pay rate of £90‑£100 per day (PAYE).
- Full‑time, long‑term contract.
