SEN Teaching Assistant – Outdoor Focus (Bristol)

About the role

This temporary, part‑time position supports pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on outdoor, experiential learning. You will work during school hours in Bristol, helping children develop academically, emotionally, and socially while enjoying nature.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering SEN‑focused lessons, both indoors and outdoors.
• Plan and facilitate outdoor activities that promote wellbeing, sustainability, and hands‑on learning.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with diverse needs.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, focusing on emotional and mental health.
• Collaborate with school staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or adults who have special needs.
• Passion for nature, outdoor education, and holistic child development.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
