SEN Teaching Assistant – Part‑Time (Lambeth)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with Down’s Syndrome in a welcoming primary school in Lambeth. The role is part‑time, three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the child’s learning and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one support to the pupil throughout the school day.
• Assist the pupil in accessing the mainstream curriculum and classroom activities.
• Support communication, social development and engagement.
• Provide personal and intimate care when required, promoting independence and confidence.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other support staff.

Required profile

• Experience working with children with additional needs (SEN experience desirable).
• Calm, patient and compassionate demeanor.
• Confidence in providing personal and intimate care.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Team‑player who works well within a supportive school environment.
