SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Chigwell)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school’s SEN provision in Chigwell. You will work on a long‑term, full‑time basis supporting pupils with a variety of special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils across multiple age groups, focusing on ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional learning needs.
• Assist with behaviour management strategies and help create a safe, structured classroom environment.
• Work closely with teachers to deliver lessons, providing one‑to‑one or small‑group interventions as required.
• Build positive, supportive relationships that encourage pupil engagement and progress.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Alternative Provision, or a similar setting.
• Proven track record of supporting pupils with SEN and behavioural challenges.
• Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to managing difficult behaviour.
• Flexibility to adapt to different age groups and settings within the provision.
