SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a resilient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in South Ribble. You will work within Key Stage 1, helping children with Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour to engage fully with the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Implement firm but fair behavioural boundaries and use de‑escalation techniques.
• Adapt tasks with creative and sensory‑based strategies to keep pupils with ADHD and Autism engaged.
• Support inclusive learning by tailoring KS1 lessons to each child’s pace.
• Collaborate with the SENCO to monitor progress and report on EHCP goals.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (minimum).
• Proven experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism or ADHD.
• Calm, patient approach to challenging situations.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) and two professional references.
• Legal right to work in the UK and a CV covering the last ten years of employment.
