SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑Time/Part‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in primary schools across Burnley. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and covers EYFS to Year 6, matching your experience and preferences.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for children with SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and adapting resources.
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents.
• Promote positive behaviour and help create an inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with SEN/SEND or SEMH pupils (highly desirable).
• Background in a primary school or similar educational setting (highly desirable).
• Caring, patient, and adaptable attitude.
• Strong behaviour management and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, and speech & language support strategies.
