SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Hackney)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive primary school in Hackney. Starting in September, you will work full‑time supporting two KS2 pupils with autism spectrum disorder, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored daily support to two pupils with ASD in the classroom.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning strategies.
• Promote independence, social development and academic progress.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing insights with the SEN team.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN, especially ASD.
• Patient, adaptable and compassionate attitude.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work closely with teachers.
• Reliable commute to Hackney and commitment to full‑time attendance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASD support strategies.
• Understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
• Effective communication with pupils and staff.
