About the role
A primary school in Leeds is looking for a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers and professionals to help students achieve their full potential in a supportive classroom environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑on‑one assistance to SEN pupils during lessons and activities.
- Support the teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
- Assist students with daily routines, personal care and participation in school events.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other specialists to develop and review individual education plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents and stakeholders about student progress.
- Participate in professional development to enhance SEN expertise.
Required profile
- Relevant qualifications and experience in SEN support, preferably with children with disabilities.
- Compassionate, patient and able to build trusting relationships with students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of school policies and procedures; experience in a school setting is a plus.
