About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Preston. The role starts in September 2026 and involves providing tailored support to a Year 4 pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them succeed academically and socially.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for a child with SEN.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering adaptive learning strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well‑being.
- Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Required profile
- Patient, empathetic and proactive approach to supporting children’s needs.
- Experience in support work, behaviour management, SEMH support or care work is strongly encouraged.
- Willingness to undertake or already hold a valid enhanced DBS check.
Required skills
- Ability to adapt learning strategies for individual needs.
- Positive behaviour management techniques.
- Support for emotional well‑being and inclusion.
