SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Richmond upon Thames)

About the role

This full‑time, fixed‑term position starts in September 2026 and supports pupils with special educational needs in mainstream primary schools across Richmond upon Thames. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to create an inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs).
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have SEN.
• Patient, proactive, and nurturing attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Holder of a DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
