SEN Teaching Assistant (Psychology Graduate) – Maidenhead

About the role
We are looking for a Psychology Graduate to join our specialist school in Maidenhead as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will support children aged 5‑11 who have experienced trauma and complex mental‑health needs, working alongside qualified therapists and psychologists.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to SEN pupils throughout the school day.
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing behaviour and wellbeing plans.
- Observe and shadow therapeutic sessions, taking notes for professional development.
- Monitor pupils’ emotional state and report concerns to the school’s mental‑health team.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress.
Required profile
- Recent graduate in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g., Criminology).
- Level 3 qualifications or higher; a degree is preferred.
- Enthusiastic, proactive and able to work independently.
- Open‑minded and adaptable to the demands of a trauma‑informed environment.
Required skills
- Understanding of special educational needs and mental‑health issues.
