SEN Teaching Assistant – Reception (Camden)

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time position supports Reception pupils in a primary school in Camden. You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to help children with speech, language and communication needs develop confidence and early learning skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with speech, language and communication difficulties.
• Deliver language‑rich activities that reinforce classroom learning.
• Assist with early social interaction and communication development.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN specialists and external professionals to plan and review interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and share updates with the teaching team.

Required profile

• Experience in Early Years or Key Stage 1 settings.
• Confidence in supporting speech and language development.
• Warm, nurturing and engaging approach with young children.
• Ability to work effectively alongside teachers, SEN staff and external agencies.
• Passion for helping children reach their potential.

Required skills

• Understanding of speech, language and communication development in early years.
