SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well‑run secondary school in Brent, starting September 2026. You will support a pupil with complex special educational needs on a group basis, helping them access learning in a specialist environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to the designated pupil.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, the SEN team, and external agencies to deliver tailored interventions.
• Monitor and manage moments of distress or challenging behaviour, following established safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of the pupil’s progress and any incidents.

Required profile

• Calm, resilient approach to supporting students with varied needs.
• Experience working with pupils who may display violent or distressed behaviour.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
