About the role
We are seeking an experienced, resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well‑run secondary school in Brent, starting September 2026. You will support a pupil with complex special educational needs on a group basis, helping them access learning in a specialist environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to the designated pupil.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, the SEN team, and external agencies to deliver tailored interventions.
- Monitor and manage moments of distress or challenging behaviour, following established safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of the pupil’s progress and any incidents.
Required profile
- Calm, resilient approach to supporting students with varied needs.
- Experience working with pupils who may display violent or distressed behaviour.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
