SEN Teaching Assistant – Special Day School

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an independent special day school serving students aged 6 to 19 with complex learning, medical and sensory needs. The role is full‑time, on‑site and offers the chance to make a tangible difference in a supportive, specialist environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils across the curriculum in classroom, outdoor and community settings.
• Assist students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex medical conditions and autism to achieve educational and personal goals.
• Promote an inclusive atmosphere that respects diversity and encourages confidence.
• Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines when required.
• Collaborate with staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with children and young people with additional needs.
• Willing to pursue formal qualifications and attend fully funded training.
• Committed to safeguarding policies and values.
• Proactive, creative problem‑solver with strong communication skills.
