SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Children with Additional Needs

About the role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school on the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire border. You will work Monday to Friday during term time, supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs, helping them build confidence, independence and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in daily classroom activities.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Promote confidence, communication and independence among students.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Support behaviour management and emotional wellbeing.
• Monitor progress and celebrate achievements.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people in education, care or related sectors.
• Patient, compassionate and resilient attitude.
• Understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD and SEMH.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent.
• Right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of SEN support strategies.
