SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Children with Special Needs

About the role
Join a friendly, inclusive specialist school in Oxford as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will work directly with vulnerable pupils aged 5‑16, helping them build confidence, independence, communication and social skills in a safe, nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Encourage positive relationships and interactions between students.
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support, adapting approaches to individual needs.
- Use de‑escalation techniques and restorative practices to manage behaviour and support emotional regulation.
- Assist children with communication, daily routines, learning tasks and sensory requirements.
Required profile
- A bubbly, friendly and enthusiastic attitude.
- Positive mindset and willingness to make a difference.
- Previous experience with children or vulnerable adults is beneficial but not essential.
