SEN Teaching Assistant – Support Children with Special Needs

About the role
Teaching Personnel is recruiting enthusiastic individuals to work in specialist SEN schools in Newbury. You will support children and young people aged 5‑18 with a range of additional needs, helping them thrive academically and personally.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities for pupils with autism, SEMH, MLD/SLD, SLCN, ADHD and sensory processing difficulties.
- Collaborate closely with therapists, behaviour specialists and families to provide holistic support.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse behavioural and learning requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support plans.
Required profile
- Passionate about supporting children with SEN.
- Patient, empathetic and resilient.
- Flexible and able to adapt to varying learning and behavioural needs.
- Qualified or unqualified – experience in SEN or education is desirable but not essential.
