About the role
We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with challenging behaviour in primary schools across Blackburn, Darwen and Accrington. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement behaviour strategies and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted support to pupils with challenging behaviour, both individually and in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to plan and execute behaviour management plans.
- Monitor pupil progress and report observations to senior staff.
- Maintain a calm, consistent approach to de‑escalate situations.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker supporting challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
