About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a mainstream secondary school in Plaistow immediately. You will support students with severe and complex needs either within the mainstream classroom or the Resource Provision (RP) setting.
Key responsibilities
- Provide non‑verbal, speech and language support to students.
- Assist wheelchair‑using pupils and ensure accessibility.
- Support autistic learners with high sensory needs or emotional regulation challenges.
- Utilise AAC tools such as PECS, Makaton, communication boards and voice‑output devices.
- Deliver highly differentiated, sensory‑based or life‑skills focused learning activities.
Required profile
- Prior experience working with SEN students is desirable.
- Passion for making a positive impact on young people’s lives.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.
