About the role

Join Academics as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant in Swanley and make a daily impact on children with diverse learning needs. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to support pupils, work alongside teachers, and help create an inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help pupils engage with learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver creative, inclusive activities.
• Adapt resources and strategies for children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs, and other learning difficulties.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour through patience and consistency.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
• Assist with personal care or specialist equipment when required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Caring, patient, resilient attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
