SEN Teaching Assistant – Tunbridge Wells

About the role

Academics is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a vibrant school in Tunbridge Wells. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on children’s confidence, learning and overall wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help pupils engage with learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver inclusive learning activities.
• Support children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs and other learning difficulties.
• Adapt resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour through patience and consistency.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Assist with personal care or specialist equipment when required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
• A caring, patient and resilient attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
