SEN Tutor – 1:1 Tuition for Children with Special Needs

About the role

We are seeking a qualified teacher or experienced tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for learners with Special Educational Needs in Lewisham. You will work directly with children and young people aged 5‑25, adapting lessons to support a wide range of needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and more.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions in English and/or Maths.
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual EHCP outcomes and learning styles.
• Build positive relationships that boost confidence, independence and academic progress.
• Monitor learner progress, complete session reports and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with families, schools, local authorities and other professionals.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS, or substantial tutoring experience.
• Proven experience supporting children with SEND.
• Confidence delivering English and Maths tuition.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and right to work in the UK.
