SEN Tutor – EBSA & EHCP Support (Secondary) September Start

About the role

This position offers an exciting chance to work with secondary‑aged students in Wandsworth who are facing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) or have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) that prevent full‑time attendance. You will deliver personalised 1:1 tuition and pastoral support to help them re‑engage with learning and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engaging, differentiated 1:1 tuition in English, Mathematics and Science.
• Adapt teaching methods to each pupil’s learning needs and abilities.
• Build trusting relationships that encourage attendance and participation.
• Identify and reduce barriers to learning through flexible, patient strategies.
• Monitor progress and report feedback to the school and consultants.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, parents/carers and other professionals.

Required profile

• Experience supporting young people with additional educational needs.
• Patience, adaptability and high emotional intelligence.
• Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of secondary‑level English, Mathematics and Science curricula.
