SEN Tutor – Flexible Part‑time Role in Edinburgh

About the role

Randstad Student Support partners with schools across Scotland to provide specialist tutoring for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will deliver personalised tuition, both face‑to‑face and online, following each student’s EHCP plan and helping them build confidence and academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging 1:1 or small‑group sessions (up to 1:6) tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Design lesson plans that align with EHCP objectives and student interests.
• Track and record student progress using the internal reporting system.
• Collaborate with schools, foster carers, and social workers to ensure holistic support.
• Adhere to KCSIE safeguarding guidelines at all times.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or NQTs, Teaching Assistants (Level 1‑3), HLTAs, or recent graduates.
• Minimum six months experience working with SEN pupils, disengaged youth, or in alternative provision.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience and empathy.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills

• Strong IT competency with access to a laptop/computer and stable broadband for online sessions.
