SEN Tutor – Flexible Part‑time Role in Hartlepool

About the role

Randstad Student Support is partnering with schools across the North East to provide specialist tutoring for SEN pupils in Hartlepool and surrounding areas. You will deliver face‑to‑face or online tuition, following individual EHCP plans to boost students’ knowledge, confidence and self‑esteem.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging 1:1 or small‑group sessions (up to 1:6) tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Design lesson plans aligned with EHCP objectives and students’ interests.
• Track progress and record attainment using the internal reporting system.
• Collaborate with schools, foster carers and social workers to ensure holistic support.
• Adhere to KCSIE safeguarding guidelines in all interactions.

Required profile

• Qualified or aspiring teachers (QTS/NQTs), Teaching Assistants (Level 1‑3), HLTAs or recent graduates.
• Minimum six months experience working with SEN pupils, disengaged youth or alternative provisions.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience and empathy.
• Strong IT competency with laptop/computer access and stable broadband for online sessions.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills
