SEN Tutor – Flexible Part‑Time Role in Middlesbrough

About the role

Randstad Student Support partners with schools across North East England to provide specialist tutoring for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will deliver personalised tuition, both face‑to‑face and online, following each student’s EHCP plan to boost learning and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging 1:1 or small‑group sessions (up to 1:6) tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Design lesson plans that align with EHCP objectives and student interests.
• Track progress and record attainment using the internal reporting system.
• Collaborate with schools, foster carers and social workers to ensure holistic support.
• Adhere to KCSIE and safeguarding guidelines at all times.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or NQT, Teaching Assistant (Level 1‑3), HLTA, or recent graduate.
• Minimum six months experience working with SEN pupils, disengaged youth, or in alternative provision.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience and empathy.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills

• Strong IT competency with access to a laptop/computer and stable broadband for online sessions.
