SEN Tutor – Part‑time Temporary (£25‑30/hour)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate SEN Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for looked‑after children and students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The role is part‑time, temporary and offers flexible session times to suit your schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills, Maths and/or English, adapting lessons to each learner’s ability and EHCP requirements.
- Work with pupils who have a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, global development delay and communication difficulties.
- Design and deliver individualized lesson plans that align with identified support needs.
- Use a calm, consistent and encouraging approach to build trust and foster engagement.
- Liaise with parents, carers and professionals to ensure coordinated support.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or therapeutic setting.
- Experience teaching or supporting Functional Skills and/or core subjects (Maths or English).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
Required skills
- Experience delivering Functional Skills, Maths or English tuition to learners with SEN.
- Ability to create individualized lesson plans based on EHCPs.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with families and professionals.
