About the role
This part‑time, temporary position offers the chance to make a genuine difference in a young learner’s life. You will provide one‑to‑one tuition for students with special educational needs, helping them rebuild confidence and develop essential skills.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition in the student’s home or local community setting.
- Plan and adapt lessons to each learner’s individual needs, learning style and additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, motivation and progress.
- Work flexibly around the student’s timetable.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
- Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Passion for helping vulnerable learners achieve their potential.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
