About the role
The SENCO Assistant will support the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator in delivering high‑quality provision for pupils with SEND. Working closely with teaching staff, parents and external agencies, you will help ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the SENCO, including managing confidential SEND records.
- Assist in preparing and organising EHCP reviews and SEND meetings.
- Coordinate meetings with parents, staff and external professionals, taking minutes where required.
- Support monitoring of interventions and pupil progress.
- Liaise with teaching staff to gather information on SEND provision.
- Ensure SEND documentation complies with statutory guidance.
- Help organise annual reviews and other SEND processes.
- Promote an inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Required profile
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to build positive relationships.
- Professional, confidential handling of sensitive information.
- Good IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in a school or educational setting.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
