SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools in Croydon

About the role

We are looking for compassionate SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in mainstream primary schools across Croydon. The role starts in September and offers both short‑term and long‑term contracts, allowing you to make a daily difference in a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one tailored support for an assigned pupil.
• Assist with learning, emotional regulation and social development for children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other needs.
• Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP targets and support plans.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual requirements.
• Promote an inclusive, safe and nurturing classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 desirable).
• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a mainstream primary setting.
• Patient, empathetic and committed to pupil progress.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Availability Monday‑Friday (part‑time roles still require weekday presence).
