SEND and Inclusion Learning Support Trainer

About the role

The SEND and Inclusion Learning Support Trainer provides tailored assistance to adult learners (19+) on short pre‑employment courses. You will help learners with SEND, ESOL, low‑level English or maths, mental health challenges, and other barriers to fully engage and succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group support during classroom and practical sessions.
• Assist learners with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, mild learning difficulties, and low literacy or numeracy.
• Support ESOL learners with instructions, terminology, and tasks.
• Adapt and scaffold learning materials under tutor guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of support, interventions, and progress.
• Implement reasonable adjustments and behaviour‑management strategies.
• Provide pastoral care, signpost external services, and follow up attendance.
• Uphold safeguarding, Prevent, health & safety, and data‑privacy policies.

Required profile

• Experience supporting adults or young people with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Strong communication, patience, and empathy.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse learners.
