SEND Caseworker – Remote (3‑6 months)

About the role
This contract position supports Liverpool City Council in delivering high‑quality provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working remotely, you will collaborate with schools, settings and multi‑agency partners to ensure the graduated approach is applied consistently.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate statutory assessment processes for pupils with SEND and monitor progress against outcomes.
- Support schools and settings by advising SENCos, head teachers and other staff on the graduated approach.
- Manage Education, Health and Care (EHC) planning from assessment through to placement and review.
- Work within a cluster team under a Senior Casework Officer, liaising with High Needs Support Officer and Independent Travel Trainer.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues in SENISS, Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology and external health and social care services to ensure a multi‑agency approach.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a SEND Caseworker.
- Familiarity with SENDIST cases and Ombudsman hearings.
- Previous work within a local authority environment.
