SEND Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Part‑time

About the role

Join a supportive team delivering specialist education in SEND schools across Liverpool and Knowsley. This part‑time Early Career Teacher (ECT) position starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to develop your teaching practice while supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
• Plan, deliver and adapt lessons to meet individual learning requirements.
• Collaborate with school staff, external specialists and families to ensure holistic support.
• Participate in ECT induction activities and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or completing teacher training this academic year.
• Genuine interest or experience in working with children with SEND.
• Patience, drive and determination to succeed in a challenging environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND legislation and best‑practice teaching strategies.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
