SEND Lead Teacher

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated SEND Lead Teacher to shape and develop its special educational needs provision. You will work within a supportive leadership team to ensure inclusive, high‑quality teaching for all pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and champion SEND provision across the school.
• Deliver outstanding, differentiated teaching for pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external agencies.
• Support colleagues in implementing inclusive teaching strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
• Develop and embed effective SEND policies and practices.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary setting, or an early‑career teacher with a recognised SEND specialism.
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
• Passion for inclusion and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for every child.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EHCP processes and SEND legislation.
• Ability to design and deliver tailored learning interventions.
• Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams.
