SEND Learning Support Assistant – Flexible Temporary Role

About the role

SparkED Recruitment is partnering with inclusive schools in Plymouth to provide flexible, temporary support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role involves day‑to‑day supply work across Key Stages 1–4, helping students access learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Build trusting relationships that promote wellbeing, confidence and engagement.
• Support students facing behavioural challenges, anxiety, low self‑esteem or trauma.
• Assist in developing social, emotional and academic skills.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to deliver tailored support strategies.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt quickly to different classroom settings and student requirements.
