About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in Salfords. You will work closely with the class teacher to support children with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in delivering daily learning activities for designated pupils.
- Adapt teaching materials and plan interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Report on pupil progress, contribute to ISP writing and end‑of‑term judgements.
- Carry out assessments, support core subject and life‑skills interventions.
- Participate in CPD and multi‑professional discussions about pupil progress.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour management and ensure pupils have necessary resources.
- Provide positive supervision during break and lunchtime.
- Accurately record information in CPOMS and uphold confidentiality.
Required profile
- Experience working with children, especially those with SEND.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Understanding of effective behaviour management strategies.
