SEND Learning Support Assistant (Primary)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in Salfords. You will work closely with the class teacher to support children with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering daily learning activities for identified pupils.
• Adapt teaching materials and plan interventions tailored to individual needs.
• Report progress to the teacher and contribute to ISP writing and end‑of‑term judgements.
• Carry out assessments, support core subjects and life‑skills teaching.
• Participate in CPD and multi‑professional discussions about pupil progress.
• Provide professional feedback to parents and support positive behaviour strategies.
• Ensure pupils have the resources needed for independent learning.
• Supervise children during break/lunchtime and support educational visits.
• Maintain accurate records, including CPOMS entries, and uphold confidentiality.

Required profile

• Experience working with children, especially those with SEND.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Understanding of effective behaviour management.
