SEND Learning Support Assistant – Salfords

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a school in Salfords. You will work closely with the classroom teacher to support children with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering daily learning activities for designated pupils.
• Adapt teaching materials and plan interventions for core subjects and life‑skills.
• Report on pupil progress, contribute to ISP writing and end‑of‑term assessments.
• Participate in CPD and multi‑professional discussions about each child’s needs.
• Support positive behaviour management and ensure pupils have the resources to learn independently.
• Liaise professionally with parents and provide feedback.
• Supervise pupils during break and lunchtime, maintaining high standards of safety and confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate records, including CPOMS entries, and assist with educational visits.

Required profile

• Experience working with children, especially those with SEND.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Understanding of effective behaviour management strategies.
