SEND Learning Support Assistant – Teaching Assistant (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Greenwich. This full‑time temporary position supports classroom activities and helps create a nurturing learning environment for children with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering educational activities.
• Support students with their academic and social development both inside and outside the classroom.
• Prepare lesson materials, set up equipment, and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
• Supervise students during non‑classroom times, including outings and field trips.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, understanding and ability to manage groups of students.
• Proactive and collaborative approach with teachers and staff.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Experience supporting SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) learners.
