SEND Lecturer – Functional Skills, Life Skills, Horticulture & Retail

About the role

We are seeking a passionate SEND Lecturer to deliver Entry Level 1‑3 programmes at Barra Hall, Uxbridge. The role supports learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across functional skills, life skills, horticulture, retail and employability, helping them build independence and confidence for adulthood.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive lessons for English & Maths Functional Skills, Life and Living Skills, Horticulture, Retail and Employability.
• Differentiate activities to meet individual EHCP outcomes and learner needs.
• Monitor, assess and record progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Promote independence, social interaction and employability skills.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment and ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety policies.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, colleagues, parents/carers and external professionals.
• Contribute to quality assurance and accurate learner records.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
• Experience teaching learners with SEND.
• Proven ability to deliver Functional Skills English and Maths.
• Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
• Knowledge of inclusive and differentiated teaching practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and learner welfare.
