SEND Operational Lead – Interim (Hybrid)

About the role

This interim position supports a London Local Authority in delivering statutory SEND services. Reporting to the Head of SEND, you will lead the Education, Health and Care (EHC) teams and work in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Head of SEND and provide strategic oversight of EHC teams.
• Embed and maintain high standards of customer service and quality assurance across the service.
• Develop and nurture relationships with schools, families and external partners.
• Drive performance improvements and optimise systems to meet statutory timelines.
• Ensure improvement processes are followed and documented in line with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior SEND or special educational needs operational role.
• Strong understanding of EHC processes and statutory service delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Experience working on fixed‑term or contract assignments, preferably inside IR35.
