SEND Secondary English Teacher – Peckham

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SEND English teacher to deliver tailored secondary‑level English tuition in a small independent provision in Peckham. You will work with a mixed‑ability group of up to 15 students, many of whom have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or ADHD.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver individualised English lessons that align with each pupil’s learning plan.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group instruction, adapting resources to suit diverse needs.
- Monitor progress, record outcomes and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Foster confidence in reading, writing, speaking and listening through supportive feedback.
- Collaborate with other SEND specialists to ensure a holistic approach to each learner’s development.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience in secondary English.
- Demonstrated experience working with SEND pupils, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, anxiety or other SEMH challenges.
- Passion for inclusive education and ability to create a safe, motivating learning environment.
