SEND Teacher – Autism Hub in Primary School

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated, qualified SEND Teacher to lead the specialist Autism Hub within a mainstream primary school. You will work with a small class of up to 10 pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delay.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality, sensory‑focused lessons for pupils with SEND.
- Create a supportive, structured learning environment tailored to diverse needs.
- Collaborate closely with Learning Support Assistants and the wider teaching team.
- Liaise with mainstream staff to facilitate pupil integration where appropriate.
- Work with external agencies and the local trust to enhance support provision.
- Support pupils accessing mainstream lessons and participating in broader school activities.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching children or young people with SEND.
- Comprehensive knowledge of autism and related educational strategies.
- Experience with one or more specialised approaches such as Attention Autism, TEACCH, Makaton, or PECS.

What we offer
- Full‑time, long‑term fixed‑term contract (September 2026 – July 2027).
- Pay to scale, with a daily rate between £170 and £250.
