About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to work with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The role is based in a school setting in Plumstead and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on learners' lives.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons tailored to the needs of SEND students.
- Implement and adapt Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each pupil.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support learning and well‑being.
- Assess and record student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as required.
- Create an inclusive, safe and supportive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Previous experience teaching, specifically with SEND students.
- Strong understanding of the educational and developmental needs of children with disabilities.
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with staff, parents and external agencies.
- Patience, resilience and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
