SEND Teacher – Specialist ASC School

About the role
We are seeking a passionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist ASC school in East Birmingham. You will work with small classes of pupils who have Autism Spectrum Condition and other complex needs, delivering highly differentiated lessons in a supportive, well‑resourced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Teach small classes of SEND pupils, primarily with ASC.
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that promote academic progress, communication, independence and emotional development.
- Create a structured, calm and inclusive learning environment.
- Support pupils’ social, communication and emotional development.
- Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff.
- Use a range of strategies to maintain engagement and progress.
- Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.
- Contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Previous experience teaching children with Autism or complex needs is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with small class sizes and high staff‑to‑pupil ratios.
