SEND Teacher & Support Roles – September Start (East Sussex)

About the role

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a range of SEND and SEMH schools in East Sussex to fill temporary positions ahead of the September academic year. Roles include SEND Teacher, SEMH Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant and Behaviour Support posts. Early registration gives candidates more choice and time to complete compliance checks.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored curriculum and support to pupils with special educational needs and/or emotional & mental health challenges.
• Provide behaviour support and create a consistent, calm classroom environment.
• Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement individual education plans.
• Assist senior teachers with lesson planning, assessment and record‑keeping.

• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour.
• Work collaboratively and bring consistency into the classroom.
• Commitment to making a positive difference for children with SEND.

Required skills

What we offer

• Daily rates ranging from £92.60 to £200 inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
• Potential to convert temporary role to permanent based on performance.
• Free child protection and Prevent duty training.
• Support with safeguarding checks and DBS compliance.
