SEND Teaching Assistant – Flexible Supply Role

About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible SEND Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across SEND schools in Teesside. You will support pupils aged 2‑19 with autism or complex learning difficulties, gaining experience across a range of year groups.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils.
- Assist with learning activities and adapt materials to meet individual needs.
- Support children’s social and emotional development.
- Help implement Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Collaborate closely with class teachers and the wider SEND team.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children with additional needs (school, care or youth work settings).
- Calm, patient and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- A Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable but not essential.
