About the role
Reed Education is partnering with a specialist SEN school in Meldreth to recruit a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant. The role is full‑time (40 hours per week), Monday‑Friday, term‑time only, supporting children and young people aged 6‑19 with a wide range of learning and medical needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and group support for students with PMLD, autism, ADHD, sensory and physical impairments, and complex medical conditions.
- Assist in delivering an individualised curriculum that promotes independence, confidence and wellbeing.
- Participate in therapeutic and multidisciplinary approaches, including physical intervention and personal care routines when required.
- Promote equality, respect and a learner‑centred ethos across classroom and community settings.
- Support emotional resilience, communication development and transitions for students.
Required profile
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Compassionate, patient, dedicated and solution‑focused.
- Willing to work towards formal qualifications with fully funded training.
- Committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Enthusiastic about outdoor and community‑based learning.
Required skills
- Ability to support diverse communication needs.
- Experience or willingness to engage in physical intervention and personal care.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
